This is a short video developed by the Youth Coalition for Sexual and Reproductive Rights which examines the intersections between youth sexual and reproductive rights, gender equality, the empowerment of young women and girls, human rights & sustainable development. With less than 1 month left before the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20 Summit), young people, NGOs, governments and UN agencies need to take active measures to ensure that the rights of young people are considered as central to sustainable development and that gender equality be integrated a a cross-cutting theme throughout the outcome document of the Summit.

Comment by Sarah Kennell on June 5, 2012 at 2:19pm Hi Florencia! Many thanks for your comments concerning the GET GREEN video. It is lovely to receive the positive feedback. In terms of the YCSRR's activities related to the RIO process, we have just returned from the latest round of informal negotiations on the outcome document where we advocated for issues similar to those expressed in the video. My colleague from Brazil and I will attend the RIO Summit, where we will continue our advocacy. We'll also be organizing a side-event. Information regarding this side-event will be shared via the Women's Major Group listserve :) Please feel free to get in touch directly, if you would like more information about the Youth Coalition for Sexual and Reproductive Rights and/or our involvement in the RIO process: programs@youthcoalition.org

The Women's Major Group (WMG) was created as one of nine Major Groups after the 1992 UN Conference on Environment and Development held in Rio de Janeiro. This list serve is for members of the Women Major Group following the Post Rio+20 process (Financing SD, SDGs-post2015) as well as for members of the Women Major Group following Environment processes (UNEP). The Operating Partners (OPs) of the Post Rio+20 process that coordinate the group rotate periodically. The current WMG OPs are Women in Europe for a Common Future (WECF) and Development Alternatives with Women for a New Era (DAWN) supported by a core group including the Women's Environment and Development Organization(WEDO) and Global Forest Coalition (GFC).
