Desertification is a word which can be used as a meaning for converting the fertile soil by deforestation and mining. This phenomenon of desertification is common is the coal belt and quarry .The process of mining stripped the soil off its greenery. When top soil and vegetation are absent.the naked soil becomes weak and prone to erosion. When rain water flows, it can easily carry away all the soft soil leaving behind the stones and pebbles which are heavy to carry along with the flow. With passing of year, vast area of land becomes eroded due to land

slide and land slip.
