ETHIOPIA: A Foreign Battle For Land and Water

I am horrified at the ever escalating foreign land grabs in emerging/developing countries. I'm following an excellent ongoing year-long-investigation by Center For Investigative Reporting: "FOOD FOR 9 BILLION" and the political/economic/investment disease overtaking foreign farmland under the ruse of "feed the world".The particular episode Ethiopia: A Foreign Battle for Their Land and Water (more links…See More

About Me (Education, Interests, Professional experience)
I am a global researcher focusing on environmental issues as they affect human and biodiversity health. Our planet is in crisis and we women must act now. I believe that we need a global focus on restoring nature's biodiversity to health and reembrace regional farming, leaving the concept of BIG Western industrial mono-agriculture behind us. No matter how it is couched, it is all about money, not nutrition or preserving ecosystems and people's cultural food heritages. We all need to remember that without Nature We Do Not Exist. Period. Working together to restore respect and dignity to cultures and our natural world is now imperative for the survival of all species. @pdjmoo

What is your vision for a sustainable future?
That we all come back to commonsense, realizing that the old industrial militarized model has run it's course and is driving us off a cliff. Women, youth and indigenous peoples are rising all over the world, bringing a fresh perspective to the planetary crises. We must step into new leadership and by restoring respect and dignity to both humanity and Nature we will again return to harmonizing our human place on this planet where we foster and nurture all life for the good of all. We need a new baseline and guiding principles and values: "Does it Harm the Environment or Human Health" for this is where everything meets in a symbiotic, healthy web of life.
