About Me (Education, Interests, Professional experience)
Oxfam International Youth Partnerships (OIYP) is a global network of young people known as ‘Action Partners’ who share a vision of a just world and are committed to working for peaceful, equitable and sustainable social change within their communities. To advocate on food justice issues, OIYP is supporting a delegation of 16 Action Partners to attend Rio+20. The OIYP Rio+20 Youth Delegation is made up of young leaders from a diverse range of countries and contexts who have a demonstrated commitment to targeting issues related to food justice, particularly concerning Small-Scale Production, Climate Change, Gender Inequality, Land/Water Grabs, Price Volatility and emerging good food movement. The OIYP Rio+20 Youth Delegation are leading advocacy strategies to create a just and sustainable global food system where everyone has enough to eat, always.

What is your vision for a sustainable future?
Globally the world produces enough food to feed everyone, yet one in seven people on our planet go to bed hungry each night. Hunger, waste and environmental degradation are the result of a discriminatory global food system, which is broken. Nearly half of the world's population are aged 25 years and below, and it is these young people, and in particular young women, who are most impacted by the broken food system. OIYP's vision of a sustainable future is where everyone has enough to eat, always.

About

The Women's Major Group (WMG) was created as one of nine Major Groups after the 1992 UN Conference on Environment and Development held in Rio de Janeiro. This list serve is for members of the Women Major Group following the Post Rio+20 process (Financing SD, SDGs-post2015) as well as for members of the Women Major Group following Environment processes (UNEP). The Operating Partners (OPs) of the Post Rio+20 process that coordinate the group rotate periodically. The current WMG OPs are Women in Europe for a Common Future (WECF) and Development Alternatives with Women for a New Era (DAWN) supported by a core group including the Women's Environment and Development Organization(WEDO) and Global Forest Coalition (GFC).
