About Me (Education, Interests, Professional experience)
I’m based in the Sustainability and Climate Change team at PwC and will be representing the company at Rio+20 as a youth delegate – my interests span the business & industry, children & youth and women’s caucus!!

I’ve worked in sustainability since graduating in a number of in-house and external advisory roles working with the public and private sector on environmental and sustainability related challenges from policy development to climate change adaptation, sustainability strategy and international development. I’m a geographer by background so enjoy the interconnection between people and the environment. I’m particularly interested in the process of integrating sustainability considerations into corporate strategy and the role of business in stepping up to climate change and development challenges.

Outside of work Laura is a trustee for a charity promoting youth environmental volunteering projects and a charity assisting the third sector with communications/public relations support. I’ve been involved with the UK Youth Climate Coalition for the past 2 years and generally can be found at events with an inter-generational justice theme!
Area of Expertise
Natural Resources and Ecosystems Management, Climate Change, Sustainable Business, Youth Engagement
What is your vision for a sustainable future?
Where the world’s population can access the resources they need in an equitable way; people, business, systems and governments work in harmony to ensure long term sustainability; and demand is both met by increased innovation and restrained by an appreciation for the world we live in.

About

The Women's Major Group (WMG) was created as one of nine Major Groups after the 1992 UN Conference on Environment and Development held in Rio de Janeiro. This list serve is for members of the Women Major Group following the Post Rio+20 process (Financing SD, SDGs-post2015) as well as for members of the Women Major Group following Environment processes (UNEP). The Operating Partners (OPs) of the Post Rio+20 process that coordinate the group rotate periodically. The current WMG OPs are Women in Europe for a Common Future (WECF) and Development Alternatives with Women for a New Era (DAWN) supported by a core group including the Women's Environment and Development Organization(WEDO) and Global Forest Coalition (GFC).
